The Miltonduff distillery lies in the Glen of Pluscarden, whose barley rich pastures once played host to as many as fifty illicit stills during the 1800s. The site was once the meal mill of Pluscarden Abbey. The Miltonduff whisky distillery was founded by Robert Bain and Andrew Peary in 1824, shortly after the Excise Act was passed.
Miltonduff is known for its contribution in famous Ballantines blend. In July 2017 Miltonduff was released as a 15-year-old single malt under the Ballantine’s brand by the owner Pernod Ricard. Although it's a distillery that hasn't been under spotlight, we've known Miltonduff for a long time. Our first release was in 2015 with a sherry butt from 2009 bottled at 65.1% ABV. This amazing dram impressed many sherried whisky lovers and won a silver medal at C2C Cup in Germany. Now it's time for a mature bourbon hogshead aged for 21 years that we selected for you.
Nose: Green apples, touches of vanilla and warm sawdust as well as cinnamon and oranges.
Palate: Orange peel and lemon meringue, Jaffa cakes and a little lavender sweets.
Finish: Fresh with oranges, roasted peanuts and roasted malt.
